While exploring the cross between painting and sculpture as disciplines, students will create paintings from clay. The class will study and take inspiration from renowned ceramicists, painters, and other experimental artists before conceptualizing their composition and practicing new skills. This unique multi-discipline course will teach hand-building techniques and how to paint on ceramic material using glazes. By the end of this course, all students will have made their own original ceramic paintings.
Please bring some drawings with you to class to work with!
Class includes a 25lb bag of clay, a set of tools to borrow, and all of your firing costs will be covered. Students are also welcome to come in outside of class to practice as much as they like. Additional clay, glazes, or tools may be purchased at a discount in our retail area. This class is three consecutive weeks with an additional glaze class.
IF YOU ARE A MEMBER, and using your discount code, you will not get a class shelf. You will get clay, and a 10lb firing package, instead of unlimited firings.
We classify this as a "Level 2 Class", meaning that everyone enrolled should either have completed our Beginner Wheel Class, Beginner Hand-Building Class, or something similar at another studio/school.

**Per company policy, we do not offer refunds. If you find you can't make it to your scheduled class, we require two weeks' notice before the start date in order to reschedule you for another session. If you need to reschedule within two weeks of your class there is a $30 rescheduling fee. We do not allow rescheduling within 24 hours of class. You are welcome to gift your class to a friend at any time before your class starts.**
