We're going to learn some low-relief carving techniques (both additive and subtractive processes) as well as tips for making sure your tiles dry nice and flat! This is a beginner level class, but some experience with slab building could be helpful. Towards the end of class we will discuss different ways to display your work, such as hanging on a wall or mounting on different surfaces.
 
Class includes a 12lb(ish) bag of clay,  a set of tools to borrow, and all of your firing costs will be covered. Students are also welcome to come in outside of class to practice as much as they like. Additional clay, glazes, or tools may be purchased at a discount in our retail area. This class is three consecutive weeks with an additional glaze class. Additional tools and materials will be provided by the instructor.
