Pink Petal MS 351 has a Satin finish.
A chrome-tin pink that stuns in a delicate, soft hue when fired alone. Fire near pieces containing a chrome glaze to achieve depths of blushing reddish ombré (flashing).
What is flashing?
Flashing is when you place a glaze containing a chrome oxide near your piece in the kiln. During a firing, any additional chrome oxide in other glazes will cause incredible blushing effects fading between delicate light pinks to rich dark reds. These subtle gradients occur whether the chrome glazes are applied on the same piece or even when they are on other pieces spaced near but not touching the pink glazes. Results will vary based on application and distance between the glazes.
How to achieve flashing:
1.Place refractory posts around your piece to hold the leaning tiles. Here we used 4 posts.
You can also place other vessels containing a chrome glaze to achieve the same effect
2. Place tiles or pieces containing chrome oxide around your piece.
3. Fire to Cone 5/6 and get ready for your exciting results!
